1. Grateful Dead - Bird Song, Live August 27, 1972

40th anniversary today of one of their greatest performances ever, at a benefit concert for a dairy farm in Oregon owned by Chuck Kesey, brother of Ken. Random, but obviously that randomness benefitted all. This is a slow winding jam, winding its way through the afternoon Oregon sun, guitars way out of tune but musicians way in tune with each other, Garcia’s guitar in pretty much perfect form.
