Still hard to believe this is a Bruce Springsteen song. I spent a good part of my youth (a) trying to make out the lyrics to this song and (b) wondering what could have been going on in Manfred Mann’s mind when he decided to cover (i) this song (ii) in this manner.
And, the Flying V may be the coolest of guitars.
